About the Artist
Natasha Kawalek is studying at Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh. From late 2026 she will study at postgraduate level at University of Arts London.
Her work examines the boundary between remembering and fictioning, questioning what lingers from histories, collective and inherited trauma. Painting becomes a dialogue between archival photograph and present interpretation.
Through exile narratives of Poles deported during WWII, these paintings hold personhood, distance, and post-memory in tension between absence and intimacy.
